I, Mike Hassler, am an artist based on my imagination and creativity to organize and assemble things in an aesthetic way, with the intention of ending with an appropriate and pleasing composition in all the medias that I find interesting. The medias that I find most interesting include photography, computer graphics, engineering design and teaching.
I am a licensed professional engineer with over 40 years of experience in design, supervision, management, consulting and teaching in the field of architectural engineering. Recently I was confered the honor of professor emeritus by the Milwaukee School of Engineering for my commitment to education, dedication to serving students and loyalty to the institution. I am continuing to teach part-time as my dedication has not evaporated in retirement.
My art pieces are modified photographic images printed on watercolor paper or canvas, often called Giclee. They are all from photographs composed by me as if I were going to set up an easel and paint the subject of the photograph. A few of the photos included in the website were taken by customers that have commissioned me to modify their photographs and have provided their own photographs.
